The Unicorn symbolises strength, freedom, and purity, and from the earliest times this fabulous creature has been depicted in art and folklore across the World.
Associated with The Tree of Life, Lunar Dieties, and the Moon, the chariot of the Goddess Diana was said to be drawn by eight unicorns. Legend tells how all the animals of the forest would wait for the Unicorn to drink from the forest pool, before quenching their own thirst, the magical horn purifying the water as it touched it. The Medieval and Renaissance imagination abounds with the Unicorn, when its ivory horn could be worth up to twenty times its weight in gold, and this wondrous beast came to represent perfect love... The Unicorn has a long been a symbol of Scotland, the Royal coat of Arms bearing his image. These signed, limited edition, foundry cast bronzes have applied horns in Sterling silver. The stepping Unicorn stands three and three quarter inches high. Please telephone 01450 850 237 for prices and availibility. |
