Bronze by Kenneth Erik Moffatt FSA Scotland

The Antlered Stag.

Whilst this Bronze portrays one of the mythical stags of the World tree Yggdrasil, the antlered stag is a totem of great antiquity, and a powerful symbol in art and folklore.
The stag is a free spirit of the forest, and has a close association with the Goddess Diana, and the Moon. He represents fertility and prosperity. He sheds and sprouts new antlers in the Spring, representing renewal. In folk-tales he is often portrayed as magical messenger of the Otherworld...

Signed art cast foundry bronze, the antlers in sterling silver, the eyes applied and chased in 18 carat yellow gold, standing just over six and a half inches tall.
